Philpac Corporation is currently seeking candidates to join our Woodshop team in Kenmore, NY!

As a packaging supplies company, Philpac initially sold packaging supplies and boxes made by others but was introduced to manufacturing by Conelly Container. In the early 1990s, Philpac outgrew its building in downtown Buffalo, and moved to their first property on Military Road in Kenmore, New York in 1993. In 2005, Philpac was asked to make some crates for a customer and found themselves in the wood business. Due to the new wood business, Philpac acquired their second property in Pendleton, New York.

The Builder will report directly to the Woodshop Supervisor. This position requires you to build pallets and crates in accordance with the customer’s specifications while maintaining a high level of safety.
Bringing your expertise to ours
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Analyze shop drawings/blueprints to understand the specifications.
- Select raw materials required for assembly components.
- Ensure that inventory controls are maintained by keeping track of the amounts of materials and items used during each project.
- Ensure that raw materials are cut according to the job requirements.
- Utilize nail guns and/or screw guns to assemble cut materials.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by operating saws, nail guns, forklifts, etc.., safely and by keeping the work area neat and orderly.
- Ensure that you are wearing the proper safety equipment.

A qualified applicant will contribute the following:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- It is preferred that you have prior woodworking experience of 3-5 years.
- A minimum of one year’s experience operating a forklift.
Skills/Abilities/Physical demands
- The candidate must be reliable and dependable.
- An understanding of how to use a tape measure as well as the ability to read it.
- A basic understanding of mathematics is required.
- Requires the use of hands frequently to finger, handle or feel things, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear things.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- A frequent requirement for standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, and crouching.
- Climbing stairs and ladders is occasionally required.
- Potential candidates should have the following vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus their attention.

Salary: Starting at $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. with two fifteen-minute paid breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch break
